Cancellation & Refund Policy

How cancellations and refunds work for payments made to Almeo, including payments made online through our payment gateway.

In short: cancel before work starts and you get a full refund. Once work has started, you pay for the work done and any unused balance is refunded. Approved refunds are sent back to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all payments made to Almeo ("we", "us", "our") for software engineering services, project milestones, retainers, product licences, and subscriptions, whether paid by bank transfer or online through our payment gateway partner, Razorpay. Where a signed project agreement sets different cancellation or refund terms, that agreement applies.

2. Cancellation by you

Before work begins

You may cancel an engagement at any time before work has started by emailing connect@almeo.in. Any advance or deposit you paid will be refunded in full.

After work begins

If you cancel after work has started, you are charged for the work completed up to the date we receive your cancellation request, calculated on the milestones or hourly rates in your proposal. Any amount paid beyond that is refunded. Work completed and paid for is handed over to you.

Subscriptions and retainers

Monthly subscriptions, maintenance plans, and retainers can be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged for later periods. Fees already paid for the current period are not refunded on a pro-rata basis unless the service was not provided.

3. Cancellation by us

If we cancel an engagement for reasons that are not caused by you, we will refund all amounts paid for work that has not been delivered.

4. When refunds are available

You are eligible for a refund when:

  • You cancel before work begins
  • You paid for work that was not started or not delivered
  • You were charged twice, or charged an incorrect amount
  • A payment was debited from your account but the transaction failed on our side
  • A deliverable materially fails to meet the agreed scope and we are unable to fix it within a reasonable time

5. When refunds are not available

  • Work that has been completed and accepted, or delivered and not disputed within 14 days of delivery
  • Change requests or work outside the agreed scope that you approved
  • Third-party costs paid on your behalf, such as domain names, hosting, app store fees, API credits, and software licences
  • Product licences and activation keys once the licence has been issued, except where the product does not work as described

6. How to request a refund

Email connect@almeo.in with your name, the invoice or payment ID, the amount, and the reason for the request. We acknowledge requests within 2 business days and make a decision within 7 business days.

7. How refunds are processed

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. For payments made through Razorpay, the refund is initiated within 5–7 business days of approval; the time for the credit to reach your card, bank account, or UPI account then depends on your bank, usually 5–10 business days. For bank transfers, we refund to the account the payment came from.

Refunds are made in the currency of the original payment. We do not charge a fee for processing a refund.

8. Failed or duplicate transactions

If money is debited from your account for a failed or duplicate transaction, it is normally reversed automatically by the payment gateway or your bank within 5–7 business days. If it has not been reversed after that, contact us with the transaction details and we will resolve it.

9. Disputes

If you are not satisfied with a refund decision, reply to our email and we will review it again. Before raising a chargeback with your bank, please contact us first so we can try to settle it directly.

10. Contact
